Glasses & spectacle support

For you & the people you love
Reassurance starts
with being heard.
Arranging eyecare for a parent, partner or someone you support? We can talk through how a visit works and consider their communication, accessibility and support needs.
A familiar person can be there, and there’s room to ask questions. No unnecessary journey. No unfamiliar waiting room.
Ask about a home visitCan I have an eye test at home?
AU Eyecare brings eye examinations to people in their own homes and supported-care settings. Contact the team to discuss your circumstances, whether a home visit is appropriate and availability in your area.
Will my eye test or glasses be NHS funded?
NHS support may be available depending on eligibility and the circumstances of a home visit. A spectacle voucher may contribute towards glasses for eligible people. The team will confirm eligibility and any costs before you decide; free tests or glasses are not guaranteed.
What happens during a visit?
The optometrist discusses your vision and needs, examines your eyes using portable equipment and explains the findings and next steps. You can discuss glasses, practical support and any follow-up that may be needed.
Can a family member or carer be there?
You can ask a family member or carer to support you during the visit. Let the team know about communication or accessibility needs when arranging the appointment, so these can be considered in advance.
A conversation is a good place to start
Let’s bring better eyecare home.
For yourself, someone you care for, or your care home.
